Literature-Based Investigations
Books are brought to real life with our literature-based investigations. Our literacy program takes grade-level specific books and has designed comprehensive, outdoor learning extension activities to align with the content of the book. We explore everything from camouflage to biomimicry in our hands-on lessons and encourage deeper exploration for the topics discussed. Students will apply knowledge they had previously learned while reading and gain an in-depth understanding of the subject topic through experiential learning and outdoor investigations.
We are currently building our library and offer outdoor learning extension activities for the following books at this time:
– How to Hide an Octopus
– How Chipmunk Got its Stripes
– Violet the Pilot
