Field-Based Learning Programs
Field-Based programs, our most popular school course offering, completely immerse participants in the wild landscape while providing excellent access, support and emergency response capabilities. Working in small groups, students will set up a base camp in the national forest for generally a minimum of four days. From this base camp, students explore the ridges, summits, valleys, and caves of the area. Day hikes are punctuated with team-building activities and lessons pertaining to the flora, fauna, geology, and geography of the area. Each night, the students return to camp to cook, clean, play, reflect and rest.
