Unlocking the Secret Garden
Using environmental inventories of your schoolyard to guide STEM and civic engagement in your community
July 28-31, 2019
For the second year Experience Learning is partnering with Earth Force to bring you a professional development workshop like no other. This workshop is for formal and informal educators who want to integrate civic and environmental action into their classroom.
We will focus on the environmental inventory part of the Earth Force process. What is an environmental inventory? How does it apply to any unique schoolyard, classroom or community area? And how can you turn an inventory into real-life civic engagement with students from grade school through high school and beyond?
Earth Force’s focus on civic engagement helps learners to become active participants in their communities by conducting balanced research, building strong community partnerships, and making decisions as a democratic group.
