Nothing is virtual about this camp, it is a hands-on adventure where we will ride on skill level appropriate trails, talk to other kids in person, get our hands and feet wet in wild streams, and not look at a screen of any sort the entire time.
Based from our Sweetwater Farm Trail Center, we will take our beginner riders on an introductory journey, spending two nights camping in tents from a wooded basecamp.
Each day, we’ll practice bike and awareness skills before we set out on group rides that are beginner in nature and geared towards developing a lifelong love of the outdoors, and bicycling. Our days will be filled with games, skill development, and fun. While evenings will be spent at our campsite based near our onsite kitchen with access to bathrooms, meals, and covered space. We will spend each night learning campcrafts, roasting s’mores around a campfire, and stargazing under some of the darkest skies in the east.

What is the Sweetwater Farm Trail Center?
The Sweetwater Farm Trail Center is an intentionally built, thoughtfully created, natural surface trail system near Sugar Grove, West Virginia. In partnership with Trail Labs and Appalachian Dirt, our family friendly trail system has a mix of different ability level, multi-use trails as well as some bike optimized trails. We do have a high emphasis on biking but also want at least 60% of the trail system to be available for running and hiking. We will be officially open in June of 2023 with 9 miles of initial trails. Over the the next five years we plan to grow the system to 30 miles of trails. More information on the Sweetwater Farm Trail Center coming soon!

Mountain Stewards at Experience Learning is a fantastic week-long summer camp for kids who like the outdoors (or who WILL like the outdoors after this wonderful experience!) Stewardship of our natural resources, self-reliance, leadership, and fellowship, are all integral to this program. My daughter LOVES this camp, and that makes me a happy dad. Experience Learning also has great programs for learners of all ages. I recently completed an excellent Wilderness First Aid course at their wonderful Spruce Knob Mountain Center.
