Nothing is virtual about this camp, it is a hands-on adventure where we will journal on real paper, talk to other kids in person, get our hands and feet wet in wild streams, and not look at a screen of any sort the entire time.
Our youngest offering for newly hatched campers ready to test the waters of an overnight experience. We will spend our time getting comfortable outdoors on a bite-sized adventure. Based at the heart of the Spruce Knob Mountain Center, we will set up tents near the yurts, explore the local watershed, get cozy around the campfire, and make new friends as we develop the building blocks for future camp experiences.
The program will begin at the Spruce Knob Mountain Center where we will get to know each other through games and self-awareness activities. Once our tents are set up we will make our way to the local watershed to discover and learn about the oftentimes hidden life beneath the surface of the water. We will then return to the yurts with access to amenities like bathrooms, indoor space, and eat a prepared meal out of our kitchen. We will round out the evening around the campfire singing songs, playing games, and eating s’mores before we read stories as a group and tuck ourselves into the comfort of our sleeping bags. The next morning, breakfast will be served out of the yurts before we take an investigative journey through the forest to a spot overlooking the surrounding mountains and blue skies. The camp will wrap up right where we began the following day, at the Spruce Knob Mountain Center where we will have a group reflection and say our goodbyes to newly made friends.
