Mountain Bike Summer Camps

Campers must be able to ride a bike to participate in our camps. These camps focus more on further skill development, rather than learning how to ride a bike. If you are unsure which camp is the right fit, the individual camp pages have more information on the skill set needed for that particular camp.

Bikes must be capable of handling the terrain. Beginner bikers should be on at least 20 inch tires. We have found anything less than this has a hard time keeping up with the pace of other campers.

We do offer a limited number of scholarships to families in need to help further reduce the cost of camp.

Generally, anything that your camper usually wears bike riding, you should pack. Closer to the camp start date, you will be sent a packing list that has an inclusive list of everything your camper should need.

Our goal is to thrive in the rain, not just survive! Adventure mountain biking camps will continue in rain or shine, because of this it is very important to bring adequate protection from the elements. In case of an emergency situation, inclement weather protocol will be followed and if necessary the group will be evacuated from the field.

Absolutely, and we encourage you to consider it your opportunity to go away to adult summer camp!

We have primitive camping spots set away from the youth summer campers on site. Set up camp and enjoy everything the local area has to offer. Ride the trails on-site, explore country backroads or gravel galore with direct access right off our property, or ride the popular On the Rocks Craft Beverage Trail. Better yet let us help you with a shuttle back here to your campsite or at the beginning of the day. We do ask that adults stay out of camp areas when campers are present. There is not a public access kitchen on site, but we do have a small market & cafe with some take-a-way meal options available.  If camping is not your thing, there are other local lodging options in Franklin, we encourage you to check them out.

Guest Wi-Fi, restrooms, showers, and potable water are available at the Community Center, a short walk away from the camping area.

Yes! We are excited to partner with Trail Labs to offer bike rentals. More information can be found here. 

Experience Learning requires a $150 non-refundable deposit to hold your place on the week of camp. If you cancel more than two months before the program start date, Experience Learning will retain the deposit and you will receive a refund for the remaining camp tuition. If you cancel more than four weeks before the start date, Experience Learning will retain the deposit as well as 50% of the remaining tuition. If you cancel within four weeks of the camp start date, unfortunately Experience Learning is unable to issue a refund and we will retain all funds paid to date, or the funds can be transferred to a camp later on in the summer or to someone willing to fill that spot in the camp. These funds can only be applied to a new participant to that camp, not someone already registered. The new participant can be registered for another session of camp, but must keep that enrollment in addition to the new camp.

Experience Learning has a repair kit for common issues and carries some replacement parts. If you have spare parts/items specific to your camper’s bike, you are more than welcome to bring them. If the bike is not repairable, there is the option for you to rent a bike.

Trail access is free! Please consider making a donation either online or in person during your trip. Your donation will go directly towards the expansion, creation, and maintenance of the trail system.

No, Experience Learning will provide all necessary camping gear and equipment, instruction, on site transportation, professional guides, use permits, emergency response, and program food for the length of the camp. You do not have to be an expert outdoors person to have success on this camp – we will create a supportive environment as we learn and practice these new skills.
