This camp is for the skilled beginner mountain biker looking to take on another level of trail-based adventure. We will spend three days digging deep into all things XC mountain biking alongside our coach, Jess. She will help us break down and develop new skills during daily clinics and on group rides where we will test out everything we just learned on trails intentionally designed for beginner level riders. The environment will be supportive, fun, and geared towards developing a lifelong love of riding and of the outdoors. But it won’t only be adventure by bike for this camp, we will also go on short hikes to explore the trails, waterways, and forests that make our corner of West Virginia so unique.
This camp is intended for riders who have some previous mountain biking experience but are still mastering the basics. It is not intended for someone who has zero riding experience. This camp will not focus solely on riding, it will also be an introductory camping experience where we will take time to learn campcrafts, and have fun while tent-camping. Experience Learning will provide all technical camping gear, food & instruction during the experience – you bring the bike.
Meet your Coach!
Guiding the way will be Jessica Harmening, our pro coach and SRAM Coach of the Year for the 2021 NICA Awards. Jessica works as a coach education manager for NICA, she is also an educator, coach of the Morgantown Trail Hawks, lead coach supporter for WV Interscholastic Cycling League, and coach education manager for NICA national. With a passion for experiential education and knowledge of outdoor exploration through biking and backpacking, Jessica will share her expertise and guidance as you embark on this biking journey.
