Almost Heaven Star Party with the Northern Va. Astronomy Club
September 7 - September 11
The Almost Heaven Star Party, organized by the Northern Virginia Astronomy Club, begins on Friday, September 7 and ends the morning of Tuesday, September 11. The star party takes advantage of the location of our SKMC which features some of the darkest skies on the east coast. Almost 300 star gazers and amateur astronomers gather at the Spruce Knob Mountain Center to spend four nights exploring the night sky.
Over the course of the weekend there will be exploration and adventure events during the day — hiking, caving, canoeing and excursion train adventures. There will also be speakers and presentations about astronomy and a gear swap.
The event has always reached capacity ahead of time, so don’t delay in registering if you are interested.
