Carissa Herman, our Adult Running Camp yoga instructor, is a small-business owner, marketing master and certified yoga instructor with strong connections to the running community in West Virginia. She regularly volunteers for and takes part in the West Virginia Trilogy each fall at our Spruce Knob Mountain Center and she is passionate about sharing the power of yoga to heal, strengthen, and empower.
Carissa took her first yoga class between 2007-2010 while living on the island of Hawaii, but didn’t fully understand the power of the practice until becoming a student at Power Yoga Morgantown in May of 2013. She fell in love with the physical and mental release her hot yoga practice provided. Carissa completed the Yoga Alliance RTY 200-Hour Teaching Certification in November 2016.
She will tell you that her yoga practice has been much more than a body changing experience – it has been a life changing experience. Carissa works full time in marketing and recently co-founded a Kombucha Brewery in Morgantown with her partner Andrew. She enjoys trail running, cooking and excuses to spend time outside with friends.”
