Free and open to the public. Come join us for our third annual Spruce Knob Kite Festival from 1 – 5 pm and then help us celebrate 50 years from 5 – 9 pm!
During the day you will be able to fly some kites, support West Virginia based food trucks, learn from scientists, and throw some axes and frisbees! Food trucks include El Gran Sabor and T&L Hot Dogs. We will also have exhibitors including Trout Unlimited, NASA, and the Seneca Rocks Discovery Center!
Following the kite festival, we invite you to join us down at the yurts for the official celebration of our 50th anniversary! This will include the opening ceremony and ribbon cutting for our open air yurt as well as the naming plaque being officially introduced. Following the ribbon cutting, there will be live music from The Cooley Gang, meal options, and a campfire. We will celebrate the past 50 years while also looking ahead to the next 50 years.
Looking for a place to stay or non-camping accommodations, nearby Yokums Vacationland and NROCKS have some great cabin options.
For all of our programs and events, we follow best practices and guidelines to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.
All proceeds from this event will support scholarships for campers and participants with financial need. We believe that EVERYONE should have access to high-quality outdoor opportunities and your support sends kids to camp or field trips.
